Mid Lake Contract and purchase information
Mid Lake Cavaliers takes your purchase of a puppy very seriously and we expect you to do the same. Purchasing a puppy is a lifetime commitment and should not be taken lightly. There are many questions that you need to consider prior to purchasing a puppy in order to make sure that you care for it's needs for a lifetime. It is preferable that you call us and discuss your puppy needs. We like to have a discussion with our clients to see if the puppy will be a good match. We will not sell you a puppy if we do not have a lengthy conversation with you and we do not have 'discussions' via email or text. We do not find it appropriate to have anonymous conversations regarding a potential new family member. Please call or contact via our website and we will call you.
Deposit:
Once it's been determined that an applicant is approved for a puppy (we do not have a formal application process however, plan on a lengthy conversation to make sure that a Cavalier is the right 'fit' for you), we require a deposit for all puppies. The deposit is non-refundable if you change your mind and decide not to finalize the purchase. We will accept a personal check, cash, certified check, Venmo or Zelle for the initial deposit. We generally do not let our puppies leave us until they are 10 weeks in age given their eating progression and maturity.
Selection process on deposited litters:
As noted above, we take deposits on our planned litters. After the litter is born we generally wait approx. 5-7 days and then send a birth announcement to all clients who have deposited on the litter. Thereafter, puppy selection occurs at 4 weeks of age via photos compiled into an email. This is done in order of deposit received on the specific litter. We do not do puppy selection in person due to disease and we do not want to excessively handle young pups. Clients are more than welcome to come and visit our adults or visit us at any time but, we do not let clients handle any small puppies. After puppy selection and generally a month before pickup, we schedule all of our pickups to come to our property to meet everyone and we also send out 'puppy prep' so that you can begin to prepare for your new arrival! I've heard nothing but great things about how our clients feel that our process for over a decade (beginning in 2007) is very well organized and thorough.
Shipping:
We do not ship puppies under any circumstances. We will be happy to meet you half way if the drive is reasonable (within 200 miles) for a fee of $1.50/mile round trip based on map quest miles. We do not feel that a puppy who entered the world only weeks earlier should be stressed with air travel. It's very hard on a newborn who is leaving his/her mom and litter mates to live with a new family never mind the intense stress of being alone on a plane.
Guarantee:
Mid Lake Cavaliers sells each puppy with a full year guarantee to be free from genetic defects. Please see our guarantee and lifetime guardian section for more information.
Spay/Neuter contract:
Each of our puppies is sold as PET ONLY with a spay/neuter contract. All puppies are considered to be family pets and loving companions only.
